BloodRayne became an instant success and has spawned a sequel BloodRayne 2 PS-2 game, a PSP short on another game, and the promise of a future BloodRayne 3 PS-3 game in the future.
Amazingly, the only real disappointments have been the horrible movie adaptations directed by German director Uwe Bolle. The first BloodRayne Movie starred Kristanna Loken as Rayne, but was an absolute disaster in the failed attempt to tell the tale of Rayne’s origin. Bolle then made an even more disastrous “BloodRayne 2: Deliverance” set in the US Wild West and starring Natassia Malthe. |

Players must use Rayne’s supernatural skills to fight both the Nazis and their unearthly spiritual demons under their manipulation/development to spread evil throughout the world. Rayne’s unusual skills include: inhuman strength, night vision, zoom vision, incredible acrobatics and agility, and slow-motion perception that allows her to avoid a range of Nazi weaponry. Since she is a dhampir, Rayne MUST feed on the blood of her enemies to survive.
Rayne also has two unforgettable arm blades that serve as both offensive and defensive weapons as well as a snaring weapon for quick feeding.
BloodRayne is built on Terminal Reality’s Infernal game engine. The game features enhanced 3D environments, chilling sound and camera effects, and cinematic horror sequences of intense gore. Overall, it’s a fast-paced action/adventure from a third-person perspective that is quite on par with other first-person perspective games. Rating: *****
